Domain Setup

In the Domain Setup tab under Organization Settings, administrators can configure a custom domain for their organization. This allows users to access the SpaceMedia platform under the organization’s own domain name, providing a branded experience for your users. Here’s an overview of the domain setup process:

1. Custom Domain Name

To set up your custom domain:
  • Enter the desired domain name (e.g., example.com) into the Custom Domain Name field.
  • This domain will be used by your users to access the platform under your organization’s tenant.
Once you enter the domain name, the system will validate the configuration and notify you of any updates.

2. Custom Domain Setup Instructions

Follow the steps below to link your custom domain to SpaceMedia:

Step 1: Log in to Your Domain Registrar

  • Log in to your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.) and open your DNS settings.

Step 2: Add a CNAME Record

  • Add a CNAME record to point your domain to the SpaceMedia platform.
    • Value: enterprise.spacemedia.uk
    • TTL: Set to Automatic.

Step 3: (Optional) Add a CNAME for www

  • To ensure that users can access your platform with both the www prefix (e.g., www.example.com), add another CNAME record:
    • Host: www
    • Value: @
    • TTL: Set to Automatic.

Step 4: Save Changes and Wait for DNS Propagation

  • Save your changes in the DNS settings and wait for DNS propagation to complete, which may take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours.
Note: After the DNS changes propagate, users will be able to access the platform under the new domain name.

3. Domain Update Status

Once you’ve initiated the domain setup, you will see a status update. The status will reflect whether the custom domain change is still in progress, or if it has been successfully applied.
  • If the status is “Pending”, the domain setup is still in progress.
  • If the status is “Error”, there was an issue with the domain setup, and you should contact support.
  • If the status is “Success”, your custom domain has been successfully linked and is live.

4. Save Changes

After entering your custom domain and following the DNS setup instructions, be sure to click Save Changes. The system will validate the domain and initiate the update process. If the domain change is pending, the Save Changes button will be disabled until the process completes.
